Northwestern Elementary School
Northwestern Elementary Families,
We would like to thank all families for what you have done throughout the COVID-19 Shutdown to support your child’s learning during this unusual time. We understand that this has been a challenging time for everyone and we look forward to the return of a normal school day.
Below is our plan to return personal items to students and to collect Chromebooks, library books, and other classroom resources that were handed out to assist with distance learning.
Thursday, May 28 – 9 A.M. – 2 P.M. Bussing:
If your student rides the bus daily or occasionally, we will be delivering personal items that belong to students and picking up Chromebooks, library books, and other classroom resources that were distributed to assist with distance learning. All student items have been placed in designated bags that will be dropped off to your home (Tremont City and Honey Creek Mobile Home Park – Please see below). We are asking that you do not put Chromebooks in bags. We will have two gallon zip lock baggies that the Chromebooks and power cords will be placed in when picked up. If possible, please place library books and other items in a plastic grocery bag with your student’s name on it.
Tremont City: - Municipal Building Bus Stop: - Bus will arrive between 9:15 A.M. and 9:30 A.M. and will leave at 9:45 A.M.
- Owners Drive Bus Stop: - Bus will arrive between 9:50 A.M. and 9:55 A.M. and will leave at 10:10 A.M.
Honey Creek Mobile Home Park: - Normal/Daily Bus Stop: - Bus will arrive between 10:15 A.M. and 10:30 A.M. and will leave at 10:50 A.M.
We wish that we could give everyone an approximate time of when the bus will arrive to your home. However, this is not possible. Knowing this, please be on the lookout for a bus between 9 A.M. and 2 P.M.
At School Pickup: If your child is not routed (open enrollment or non-bus rider), you will be able to pickup your student’s personal items and drop off Chromebooks, library books, and other school resources in the back parking lot of the school on the same day, May 28, from 9 A.M. and 2 P.M. Please see the map below to assist. Please do not get out of your car. Similar to student pick up, we will radio in the names of students to get their personal items while we collect Chromebooks, library books, and other school resources
It is important that we practice social distancing throughout both processes. All staff involved in the collection process will be equipped with PPE equipment to assist with social distancing. If you are able to do the same, we would appreciate it.
Thank you for all of your support through these unusual times.
